Intraoral Cameras
We know it can be difficult to understand exactly what’s going on with your dental care. Our intraoral camera helps your dentist show you problem areas and talk you through your upcoming treatment. The intraoral camera is a small, hand-held device that takes highly accurate pictures of your teeth and oral structures. These images are then projected onto a chair-side computer screen. When was the last time you had the chance to get up close and personal with your molars? The intraoral camera gives you the chance to see precisely what’s going on inside your mouth, and to ask any questions you may have. We know when you are fully informed with what’s going on in your mouth, your oral health and overall satisfaction improves, and those are our two main priorities.
Digital X-Rays
Dr. Beaty and our whole team of dental experts want to provide you with all the stuff you need, like excellent general and cosmetic dental care. But we want to do that without filling your mouth and your body with things you don’t need, like unnecessary radiation. With digital X-rays, we greatly reduce your radiation exposure while also improving the image we capture and significantly reducing our environmental footprint.
Digital X-rays offer a number of benefits, including faster results and images that are transferred directly onto a computer screen. They also enable a more complete view of your mouth for improved treatment planning and better overall results. Plus, if you need to visit a specialist for more advanced dental care, we can quickly transfer the images to your next doctor’s office.
DIAGNOdent® Laser Assisted Cavity Detection
Cavities are easier to restore the earlier they’re caught. With DIAGNOdent, we can detect and fill spots of decay sooner than ever before. It’s a small laser that picks up on weak spots in the teeth and lets us know whether restorative treatment is needed. Sometimes, weak enamel can be strengthened with improved dental hygiene habits. By aiding in the early detection of tooth decay, DIAGNOdent can save you a considerable amount of time, discomfort, and stress.
VELscope® Oral Cancer Screenings
Early detection is important for the successful treatment of all diseases, and it’s no different with oral cancer. If you have never had an oral cancer screening, schedule one alongside your next general checkup and cleaning. Dr. Beaty’s office uses the VELscope Vx Enhanced Oral Assessment System. It’s a small, handheld tool that uses your mouth’s natural fluorescence to make visible soft tissue abnormalities that can’t be easily seen by the naked eye. An oral cancer screening with VELscope is a potentially life-saving procedure that takes minutes to complete.
Sedation Dentistry
Do you need help relaxing in the dental chair? If so, you are not alone. Adults, teens, and young children alike suffer from fear or anxiety at the dentist’s office. Fortunately, sedation dentistry helps soothe nerves so you can glide through your dental care. It’s not just for people who are fearful of having their teeth worked on, though. Sedation dentistry can also be helpful for patients whose mobility issues or other disabilities prevent them from lying in a chair for extended periods of time. If you believe you could benefit from sedation dentistry, you are probably correct. Discuss your case with Dr. Beaty to determine whether or not sedation dentistry can help you and which type may be best for your relaxation.
TMJ/Bruxism Therapy
Dr. Beaty treats nighttime teeth grinding (the condition known as bruxism) and TMJ disorder, commonly referred to as “TMJ.” If you suffer from jaw pain, tooth sensitivity, headaches, or any of the other symptoms of these conditions, do not hesitate to seek therapy. Left untreated, TMJ/bruxism can seriously damage the teeth and may leave you dealing with a lifetime of chronic pain. These conditions are treated with a custom orthotic device that corrects the misalignment of the jaw.
